Film Review: The Patriot

On the 4th of July my dad set up an outdoor movie, and as you've probably guessed, we watched The Patriot! There were fireworks booming in the background and it was very patriotic. It was the first movie I've seen that showed how brutal the American Revolution really was. It starred Mel Gibson, which I think was an excellent choice because he is a great actor. It's about a farmer (Mel Gibson) whose wife has died. He's left with his 7 children to take care of. When the British arrive, he doesn't want to go to war but his oldest child enlists and gets captured. He is forced to rescue his son and forms a militia that uses guerilla tactics that prove to be very important to the war. It showed how hard America had to fight for their freedom and become a country. I rate it⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.
